Today’s postcard is of Vernazza, long before the heavy rain and floods devasted the town.
Monterosso was also affected. The images of mud rivers flowing through the streets where we have all walked, were unbelievable.
Our thoughts are with everyone as the clean up begins.

I didn’t know about the floods until your post this morning! How sad. 🙁 I hope they are able to clean up thoroughly and quickly so they can get back to normal life again. I love this beautiful photo.
Hi Krista. It was awful – such a beautiul area. It happened last week. I believe that parts of the towns have since been cleared except for the old town of Monterosso which is still covered with mud.
A real tragedy for the people of such a beautiful area of Italy. It is hard to believe that we were in that area a few weeks past and had some of the best weather of our trip.
It’s hard to believe what’s happened. Everything can change so quickly, can’t it. We are all going to have to go back next year and support the people of these beautiful towns
