The Gorges du Verdon provide some of the most spectacular scenery in the south of France.
The Verdon River winds it way amongst the gigantic limestone cliffs creating inviting white water rapids and incredible absailing climbs for enthusiasts. The drive along the gorge rim is spectacular.
Stop for lunch in Moustiers Sainte Marie, a beautiful little provencial village with many shops selling their famous faience pottery. I can highly recommend La Bastide de Moustiers, a 17th century inn now offering accommodation and a fabulous restaurant. The gardens are a delight to wander around.
