With summer fast approaching in Australia, my thoughts go back to our summer in Sicily and in particular, Favignana, where this photo was taken.
Favignana is the largest of the Egadi Islands and an easy day trip from Trapani. I’d love to return for longer and explore the island and its hidden bays. One day!

Italy does have the most wonderful doors, doesn’t it? 🙂 Love the color of this blue one. 🙂
Hi Krista. Great to hear from you. I have so many photos of doors I’m not sure what to do with them! The waters around Favignana were this colour.
I can’t wait to get to Sicily. I have just come back to Bagni di Lucca from Naples and Sorrento. The weather turned quite bad and I am pleased to be home, but I just love the south and want to go even further south.
Next trip! I have just been reading about the terrible flooding in the Cinque Terre. It must have been incredibly bad- infact I thought of you and thought you may have escaped it by still being in Sorrento.
Italy has been on our list of countries to visit for sooo many years and we always seem to end up somewhere else. Hope to get there at some point soon…

Hi Julia. I’m sure you’ll get there one day. You live so close to so many exciting places, it must be hard to choose where to go next
Sigh… I miss Sicily too! Once I get past all my food/drink events, I’ll devote some time to write about it. The photos alone are begging to tell a story!
I look forward to reading your stories about Sicily. It’s a fascinating place.
