Katavi National Park in Western Tanzania is one of the most isolated game parks in Tanzania. We spent three nights at Chada Katavi, a fabulous tented camp overlooking the Chada plains. Being there in September meant it was the end of the dry season, a time when the river is drying up and hundreds of hippos can be found in the ever decreasing mudholes. The few remaining waterholes become the perfect viewing spot to see the local wildlife.
