A trip to Paris is not complete with out popping into the Four Seasons Hotel George V to see their famous flower arrangements. In the last couple of years I have been in Paris in April so comparisons between the years are easy to make.
In 2011 the flowers were a mass of blue orchids, delphiniums and hydrangeas with a touch of red dahlias. Last year, the April flowers were a mass of blue orchids and yellow calla lilies.
This year, yellow canna lilies and green hydrangeas decorated the foyers.
I hope you enjoy the photos….
The courtyard does not change. It still looks as fabulous as ever!
Which year is your favourite flower display…2011, 2012 or this year?

That is a hard one. I choose this year because I really like the photo of the yellow cannas in vases photo and the final one. They are my favourite photos, but I cannot pick a year 🙂
The photo of the cannas is one of my favourites too Jan. I’ve tried to put some in a vase upside down before and mthey don’t look anywhere as good as they do here!
Oh wowie.. thanks for the pics.. amazing! xx I loved the hydrangeas.. en masse like that.. oh my gosh! LOVED… LOVED..
Thanks jean. I think hydrangeas are a very under-rated flower. I love the green ones as well as the blue when they lose their colour and are fading. When you next visit paris, You should pop into the hotel and have aloo at the flower arrangements.
Yellow and green is an unusual combination, but as usual, my vote goes to anything with RED!!!
Of course…I knew you’d love the red! I love they way they they have used the red cannas to add a bit of a contrast!
Hi Jenny, I love this hotel! I haven’t traveled in Paris in springtime so I didn’t know that they have this spectacular flower show. Really gorgeous flowers and photos. I enjoyed all the flower displays but I say my favorite is this year’s. I love the bursts of yellows because it is more springy and sunny and cheerful. Lovely photos.
Thanks Marisol. The next time you are in Paris you will have to pop in and see the flowers. Seeing them massed together like this is so beautiful..if only i could do it at home!
Wow, what some classy arrangements and you’ve captured them so well, Jenny. I adore cut flowers so it’s hard to choose a year, but I guess I love the yellow best of all because Daffodils always remind me of springtime and new growth 🙂
Thanks Jo. Yellow is definitely a spring colour and as much as the blossom in Paris adds a touch of pink and a reminder of spring, yellow certainly says the sun is around the corner…except for this year!!
Oh how glorious – I do love the soft greens and neutrals – they’re so peaceful – but that purple makes my heart sing. 🙂
Thanks Krista. I agree, the purple orchids looks stunning in the courtyard!
All 3 years’ arrangements are really nice actually. That being said, I like last year’s flower arrangements more. There’s something about those hanging vines.
I found it interesting to compare the different years too. I agree with you that last year’s was the best. The hanging orchids are such a clever arrangement and they look stunning as well as different!
I think the top photo is stunning. What a great idea going into a hotel like this – where you know the displays will be over the top. I love having fresh flowers in my house – and would have them in every room if I could afford it.
I love having flowers in the house too Leigh. A few of these smaller vases would be perfect! The Four Seasons Hotels are known for the flower displays so I always make sure I pop in to see them!
